Overview

Most people go to Mcleodganj for the views but stay for something else entirely like me. I did not expect a two-hour conversation with a monk, the smoky bite of yak cheese, The sound of clapping echoing through a monastery courtyard that turns out to be centuries-old philosophy in action. I went in September not knowing what to expect and came back with a phone full of memories, a monk's number saved in my contacts, and a strong opinion about thukpa. Here are 10 things I genuinely wish someone had told me before I went.
